LOVE OUR CHILDREN MEAL DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM
Supporting Our Neighbors
In the years 2019-2021, when COVID-19 devastated not only our community but the world, Jabalu-Nur Foundation started an emergency daily distribution of hot meals to families in need, including refugees, single mothers, and children. This program operated for five days a week, Monday through Friday. Initially, we started serving 300 meals daily, but due to financial restraints, we closed on 200-250 meals served from 5 pm to 7 pm outside of the Islamic Center of Irving and homebound delivery, directly to their door. This program was kept operational because of the dedicated donors who believed in the cause of relieving the suffering of others.
To date, we currently operate twice a week, one day in Fort Worth, Dallas, feeding the low-income and unhoused through our partnership with Humafaith, and one day in Dallas in partnership with the Islamic Center of Irving's, Muslims' Giving Back Feeding truck.
FUNDING
The food program is in constant need of funding in order to continue operating in the future.
100% of the proceeds are for program management, food prep, distribution, and delivery.
There has been an outpour of gratitude and prayers from the families we serve, and they have expressed how much this program assists them and their children.
This program has been very beneficial for our family, and we pray that, by the Mercy of Allah, it can continue in Ramadan.
